As a Ouray County Commissioner I will be committed to serving our community. My goal is to promote economic growth, improve public safety, and enhance the quality of life for all residents. With years of experience in the private sector, I know what it takes to create jobs, build strong partnerships, and get things done.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
TAX DOLLARS
The needs for county services have changed over the years. What has not changed is the basic function of a county commissioner, which is to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens, while managing efficiently and thoughtfully.
2024 saw the largest property tax increase in Ouray County history, imposing real hardship on residents and businesses. My goal is to assure that your tax dollars are spent taking care of your needs first and not growing the size of the local government.
Emergency Medical Services and the Sheriff's department remain underserved and understaffed. Our roads need to be a priority with better support from county commissioners. I will give them the attention they require.
AGRICULTURE
Maintaining our agricultural heritage and lands is key to the things we love about Ouray County. The county should support agriculture as part of our economic base. I will work hard to improve water availability that sustains families in the agricultural business in our county.
OUR COUNTY
We have a diverse population with varying needs that all deserve full consideration.
COMMUNICATION
I want to build a bridge connecting the people with county government.
If I am elected, Quarterly Town Hall meetings will be held in the evenings at various locations throughout the county so more can attend. People deserve to be informed with the opportunity to voice their thoughts and concerns.
I believe the only way to understand businesses, projects, and road conditions is for a commissioner to be on site, to drive the roads, and work directly with the department heads.
